NEW DELHI: Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition by Pranav Choksi, son of fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi, challenging National Spot Exchange Limited’s decision to make him a party in its suit against 50 individuals and entities for recovery of Rs 937 crore of which it was defrauded.A bench headed by CJI Surya Kant also asked, “Where is your respected father nowadays? The whole country is eagerly waiting to give him a red-carpet welcome.”Pranav was made a party in the 2015 suit filed by NSEL alleging that he, as one of the shareholders of the company N K Proteins, was a beneficiary of the trade executed by that company through the electronic trading platform for spot contracts in commodities.
