Ranbir Kapoor is loved for his memorable on-screen characters but even off-screen, the actor has been extremely honest about his opinions and also his love for cinema. Belonging to the Kapoor legacy, Ranbir has a deep know-how about cinema and also has expressed his desire to be a director. Ranbir was once asked if he would love to make a biopic on his grandfather Raj Kapoor. He had reacted to it during an interaction at IFFI Goa, that he has often thought about the idea but for a biopic it is really important to highlight a person’s lows, struggles, relationship dynamics and not just the highs. Infact, he was once asked that Yash Chopra was supposed to make a film on Raj Kapoor, indicating also his love story with Nargis. Reacting to it, Ranbir had said during a chat with Mid-day, “There were certain talks but if you are doing an actor’s biopics, it has to open certain files in an actor’s life which is honest. You cannot just highlight the ‘God’ side of a person. I don’t think my family would have allowed.” However, Ranbir had once said that Raj-Nargis is his favourite onscreen pair. A viral clip from an old interview of his has now gone viral where he picked his top five onscreen pairs. He was accompanied by Deepika Padukone in this interview. He said, “Raj Kapoor and Nargis. Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. My parents, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. Shah Rukh and Kajol. And me and her (Deepika Padukone).” The actor was further asked to comment on his off, “Off screen, I wouldn’t like to comment on it, as I don’t know the facts. When they were on screen, they could burn down screens with their sheer passion. It was lovely to watch them, as there was no ego or negativity. They only oozed goodness, which was always accepted by the audience. Their love was simple, only about feelings and emotions.”
