Over the years Amitabh Bachchan has built one of the strongest fan bases across the globe. Thanks to his blog today his fandom has spread across age brackets with more and more people getting introduced to his films from the 70s, 80s and 90s. In fact he has even coined new terms for his fans who interact with him on blogs- he calls them his EF’s – his extended family and they even step up for each other in times of need. Recalling an incident during his conversation with Hindustan Times she said , “Once, two of my fans from South Africa were in Dubai. One of them fell ill at the airport. They reached out to the EF. Soon, one person reached the airport, took them to the hospital and then even dropped them to the airport again.”
They not only step up to help each other, they also come together to celebrate Big B himself. In the same conversation he mentioned how back in 2016 few of his EFs came together in Paris to witness a show that was dedicated to his father late Harivansh Rai Bachchan (poet) which he was also attending as a guest . “My EF learnt about it two months in advance and 30 of them, from different parts of the world, coordinated their flights and came for the show,” he said. Amitabh Bachchan’s next release is going to be Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur based on the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Indo-China war, where 120 Indian soldiers of the 13 Kumaon Regiment fought over 3000 Chinese soldiers. He would be giving a voiceover for the film. He is also currently working on the latest edition of Kaun Banega Crorepati which brought him back into limelight back in early 2000s.
