During a consultation meeting in Mahabalipuram, Thalapathy Vijay addressed his party members amid the huge buzz around his swansong film ‘Jana Nayagan’. For the unversed, the film is currently embroiled in a CBFC certification row with its release being effectively halted. The High Court is set to give out its verdict on the censorship of the film. At a recent congregation, Thalapathy Vijay dismissed political and legal pressure regarding the stalled release of his final film, ‘Jana Nayagan’, asserting that he would never bow down to any external influence.

Speaking out about the censor row for the first time, Vijay offered an assertive stance: “We never kneel before any pressure. Does this face look like pressure can overcome him?”

Attended by various state and district leaders, the meeting surprisingly skipped any direct addressing of the ongoing crisis surrounding the release of the film, ‘Jana Nayagan’. Rather than debating the controversy, Vijay focused his speech on the importance of organizational discipline and the commitment that is required from his supporters.

Speaking in a calm voice, Vijay urged them to “keep their eye on the goal.” He said it is only too normal to have the ups and downs during the process of transformation, but one should not let that bog them down.
About ‘Jana Nayagan’
Directed by H. Vinoth, ‘Jana Nayagan’ features an ensemble cast including Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, and Mamita Baiju, among others. Music for the film has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while cinematography has been handled by Sathyan Sooryan. The extravagantly mounted film was all set to have a grand theatrical release on January 9, but its launch was delayed owing to the censor certificate procurement process.
