In a shocking and devastating turn of events, Tang Feiji, a 55-year-old aviation influencer from China lost his life mid-livestream while piloting his helicopter. Feiji was broadcasting on Saturday when his twin-rotor craft suddenly nosedived in Jiange County in central China. While horrified and worried viewers filled the live chat with calls of “save him” and “call the emergency services,” the influencer was pronounced dead at the scene from the impact and the blaze that followed.Feiji was not wearing a helmet or parachute and had just landed briefly to adjust his camera angle before taking off again.Since, his livestream account has been set to private, with only his existing followers being able to see his content, while his death is being investigated.

As per reports, he bought the aircraft in 2024 for around £36,500 and at the time, he claimed that a pilot’s licence was not required to fly ultralight machines. However, aviation experts insist that a license is required for any low-altitude aircraft, which must also be registered with civil aviation authorities before flying. However, this wasn’t Feiji’s first brush with death. The influencer had previously survived two crashes caused by technical failures.Netizens have been commenting about the incident and influencer culture online, considering what happened to Feiji. “Sichuan influencer Tang Feiji crashed an ultralight during a livestream and died. Tragic. As a marketing manager, I worry platforms reward risky stunts—apps and regulators must enforce clearer safety rules and stricter airspace checks,” wrote a person on X.“Sichuan influencer Tang Feiji died in a livestreamed ultralight crash. Devastating. I love tech, but this exposes risky gaps in regulation and safety culture — we need stricter oversight, clearer rules and better training,” wrote another social media user.
