The claims, made by a now-deleted account, quickly went viral, prompting the actor to respond. Sethupathi has firmly denied the accusations, calling them false and attention-seeking, and confirmed that his team has filed a complaint with the cybercrime unit.
Actor denies claims, calls them baseless
Speaking to Subhash K Jha from Deccan Chronicle, Vijay dismissed the allegations as baseless, calling them “filthy” and unworthy of a reaction. He said those who know him wouldn’t take such claims seriously. While acknowledging that the accusations have upset his family and close friends, Vijay maintained his composure, suggesting the person behind the claims was merely seeking attention and momentary fame.
Complaint filed with cybercrime department
The actor added that his team has filed a complaint with the cybercrime department. He noted that this isn’t the first time he’s faced targeted attacks, having dealt with similar smear campaigns over the past seven years. Despite the recurring attempts, he asserted that such efforts have never affected him—and never will.

A woman named Ramya Mohan had posted the allegations on her X account, which has now been deleted.
