Karthi and Krithi Shetty starrer ‘Vaa Vaathiyaar’ has hit the big screens today, January 14. The film, directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, has opened to a positive response. An action-comedy entertainer, ‘Vaa Vaathiyar features Karthi as a cop, raised on the ideals of late superstar MG Ramachandran, instilled in him by his father. The film also has actors Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, Anandaraj, Karunakaran, GM Sundar, Shilpa Manjunath, and Ramesh Thilak in pivotal roles.Talking to PTI earlier, Karthi said that he almost said ‘no’ to the film, as he was anxious about how it will come out. “Just thinking about it made me sleepless at nights. The thought that I might offend MGR’s hardcore fans by my acting made me scared. But then, I also know that growth comes when we face our fears. So, one day, I called Nalan (Kumarasamy) and said, ‘I am taking up your offer,’” he said.
