Once the attack dog of Trump’s enemies, Laura Loomer has now turned her bite inward — going after MAGA royalty from Tucker Carlson to Marjorie Taylor Greene, leaving Trump’s own team scrambling to contain her.
The Self-Styled Enforcer
For years, Loomer made her name policing Trump’s world for “traitors” — claiming to expose national security officials, bureaucrats, and military figures she accused of undermining the president. Her posts could make or break reputations overnight. But in Trump’s second term, her crusade has evolved into a loyalty test for the movement itself — and one even the faithful are starting to fail.Armed with 1.8 million followers on X and her Loomer Unleashed podcast, the 32-year-old agitator now wields more influence than many official appointees. She regularly calls Trump directly, offering lists of who’s “America First” and who isn’t — a dynamic that has frustrated senior aides and triggered quiet investigations into her motives and backers.
Turning the Fire Inward
In recent weeks, Loomer has publicly savaged some of MAGA’s biggest names:
- Tucker Carlson, once a movement darling, became “Tucker Qatarlson” — accused by Loomer of being “bought off by the Muslim Brotherhood” and shielding President Biden.
- Marjorie Taylor Greene was branded a “loud-mouthed bitch” who funnels money to her daughter.
- Joe Kent, Trump’s own counterterrorism chief whose wife was killed by a suicide bomber, was smeared as being “soft on terrorism.”
“They can attack me all they want,” Loomer told The Wall Street Journal. “I’m more America First than them.”
The Shadow Influence

Loomer doesn’t hold an official position, but her access to Trump gives her outsize power. White House officials have tried to trace her funding, worried that some of her online campaigns — including a sudden push for an oil-drilling licence in Venezuela — suggest paid influence. Loomer denies taking money for posts, but sources say she receives steady backing from conservative donors and ideologues aligned with her hardline pro-Israel and anti-Islam positions. She also works closely with Yaacov Apelbaum, an Israeli-American cyber analyst known for digging through Hunter Biden’s laptop. Apelbaum reportedly feeds her material for attacks on officials deemed “Muslim sympathisers.” “She doesn’t hate Muslims,” he told the Journal. “She’s terrified of them.”
The MAGA Civil War
Loomer’s offensive comes as parts of the Trump movement fracture over Israel and antisemitism. After the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, figures like Carlson and Candace Owens flirted with conspiracies suggesting Israeli involvement — prompting Loomer to accuse them of selling out to foreign powers. Carlson dismissed her as unhinged. Owens called her “the bottom of the barrel.”Even so, Loomer’s influence remains. She reportedly persuaded Trump to distrust several senior appointees and has been lobbying for a White House press credential under her consulting brand, Loomered Strategies.
The White House’s Dilemma
Inside the West Wing, aides are split. Some argue Loomer keeps Trump’s instincts sharp, exposing grifters and opportunists. Others see her as a destabilising force who thrives on chaos and paranoia: like Rasputin but with Wi-FI. Whatever label she earns, Laura Loomer has transformed from Trump’s digital attack dog into a rogue missile within his own army — and Washington is still figuring out how to disarm her.
