Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has unveiled a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Experience Zone and Design Studio in London as part of its latest expansion drive in the United Kingdom. The company said the initiative, coupled with fresh investments, will generate 5,000 new jobs across the UK over the next three years.TCS, which already supports over 42,000 direct and indirect roles in the country, contributed £3.3 billion to the UK economy in FY24, according to a regulatory filing, PTI reported. The new AI and design facilities, modelled on the firm’s flagship PacePort innovation hubs, are expected to strengthen its focus on client collaboration, digital solutions, and next-generation technology development.Vinay Singhvi, TCS Head for UK and Ireland, said the United Kingdom remains the company’s second-largest global market and will continue to play a strategic role in its long-term growth plans. “Our London design studio will serve as a co-creation space for clients, leveraging AI and design thinking to accelerate innovation,” he said. The launch follows British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s first official visit to India this week, during which he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss trade and investment opportunities. Starmer highlighted India’s projected rise to the world’s third-largest economy by 2028 and said the UK aims to be a key partner in that journey. The visit comes shortly after the two nations finalised a landmark free trade agreement expected to double bilateral trade by 2030. The deal was concluded during Prime Minister Modi’s trip to London in July.Accompanying Starmer on the visit, UK Minister for Investment Jason Stockwood said the Tata Group remains a cornerstone of Britain’s investment landscape. “I was delighted to visit the TCS campus in Mumbai to see their technological innovation first-hand,” Stockwood said.“For nearly 150 years, the Tata Group has demonstrated leadership in entrepreneurship and philanthropy. As we mark this milestone visit, we have reaffirmed our commitment to maximising the benefits of the trade pact signed in July. Companies like TCS are vital to this mission, helping create jobs and drive economic growth across both nations,” he added.
