Talk about the perfect blend of cultures! British actors Anjli Mohindra and Sacha Dhawan recently got hitched in a wedding that beautifully mixed their Indian roots with their British vibes – all set against the dreamy Tuscan landscape. Wanting their outfits to reflect this unique mix, they called on stylist Krishan Parmar to create looks that were personal, stylish, and full of meaning. Anjli shared the inside scoop on how these stunning ensembles came together with British Vogue.

The story of Anjli’s bridal lehenga is pretty charming. Believe it or not, the dream outfit was found tucked away behind the counter of a tiny shop on Ealing Road. “It was just the slightest hint of pastels and antique threadwork, hidden inside a plastic bag,” she shared with Vogue. When stylist Krishan asked to take a closer look, the shopkeeper opened the bag, and they both knew they’d hit the jackpot. The fabric was unstitched, so dressmaker Vasilica Daineanu gave it a fresh twist, turning it into a totally custom lehenga that felt made just for Anjli. She paired it with a vintage crystal choker and necklace from Sokora Jewels and picked out bangles from her mum’s favourite accessory shop in Leicester, adding a sweet nostalgic touch.
Blending tradition and modern vibes
For the Western ceremony, Anjli switched things up with a romantic gown from The Own Studio that played with drapes and pleats, almost like a modern nod to a saree. The look was topped off with a flowing crepe-silk cape that caught the breeze beautifully, though it kept her sister and maid of honour on their toes! She accessorised with some vintage 1950s diamond earrings borrowed from Piccadilly Vaults and wore second-hand Jimmy Choos, mixing style with sustainability.

Sacha’s look was equally thoughtful. He rocked a custom Nehru jacket by designer Saran Kohli that creatively blended South Asian floral prints with classic Lancashire checks, a cool way to merge two cultures. This jacket was hand-embroidered over 60 hours in Delhi and featured unique details like antique 1930s rupee coin buttons, turning it into a real work of art. He teamed it with cream trousers and a gold silk double cuff kurta for a modern yet traditional vibe. When it was time for the Western ceremony, Sacha slipped into an Italian dinner jacket by Oliver Brown, paired with shoes he’d worn to the SAG Awards and cufflinks borrowed from his dad, keeping things personal and stylish, as reported by the digital magazine.
A story in every stitch
What makes Anjli and Sacha’s wedding outfits stand out is how personal and meaningful they are. Every piece, from the unexpected find on Ealing Road to the hand-embroidered jacket and heirloom-inspired jewellery – carries a story, connecting them to their roots, family, and each other.Their wedding wardrobe wasn’t just about looking good though they definitely nailed that! It was about celebrating their journey and identity, blending the old with the new in a way that felt just right for them.
