However, it seems even Will’s newfound powers could see what was coming for the fan-favourite series. According to the latest reports, ‘Stranger Things 5,’ which was expected to stay at the number 1 spot of Netflix top ten charts for months, lost its place in just a week. ‘Stranger Things 5’ loses top spot on Netflix charts
‘Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1,’ which marked the start of the final chapter with four episodes, was released on November 26, 2025. Just five days after its release, it recorded 59.6 million views and topped the charts. According to Hindustan Times, which reported that the Millie Bobby Brown starrer series earned the second-highest views in the debut week on the said OTT platform. P.S., the 1st position is enjoyed by ‘Squid Games Season 2’ with 60 million views. However, a week after the release, by December 3, numbers went upside-down for ‘Stranger Things.’ The first spot on the top 10 most popular shows on Netflix in the U.S. is now being enjoyed by a docuseries on the disgraced music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
What is ‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning’?
Based on the allegations faced by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and his Bad Boy empire, the docu-series is made by the rapper and his rival, 50 Cent. Diddy claimed that the footage obtained for this documentary was stolen and thus, it shouldn’t be aired. His spokesperson told CNN that the footage used was recorded only for a personal documentary Combs had been preparing for a very long time. It appears the controversy around the docuseries worked in its favour in terms of viewership. And thus, within no time, it dethroned ‘Stranger Things 5.’
