NEW DELHI: BJP Wednesday reacted furiously to the remarks of two Congress CMs “mocking” Hinduism and recalled a series of similar comments made by the functionaries of INDIA bloc to ask Rahul Gandhi if insulting Hindu gods has become a part of his party’s strategy.“How many gods do Hindus believe in? Three crore? Why so many? One god for the unmarried — Hanuman. Another for those who marry twice. And another for those who drink alcohol,” Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said in Telugu at an event, according to its translation posted by BJP.Himachal CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was seen in a viral video telling a group of youngsters as to why they are using “Radhe Radhe” greeting, drawing BJP’s ire.BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said while Reddy is making fun of Hindu gods and goddesses, Sukhu is stopping young people from offering a religious greeting. “Have Congress and Rahul instructed their CMs to directly attack Hinduism and its gods and goddesses,” he asked at a presser. These are not isolated incidents and functionaries of Congress and its allies have repeatedly insulted Sanatan Dharma, he added.Reddy had earlier said that Congress means Muslims, and Muslims mean Congress, Trivedi said. “Rahul used pictures of gods but didn’t take oath in the name of god. He has on several occasions insulted Sanatan Dharma. Congress ally DMK had organised an event for the eradication of Sanatan Dharma,” he said.He highlighted PM Modi’s critcism of Congress as “Muslim League-Maoist” to assert that Congress is behaving true to the description with unruly conducts by its MPs, including Rahul, in Parliament, their insult of institutions & its agenda of “spreading hate against Hinduism”.
