‘Son of Sardaar 2’ Movie Review and Release Live Updates: Ajay Devgn starrer off to a slow start at the box office

Ajay Devgn is back in action as Jassi in ‘Son of Sardaar 2’, the long-awaited sequel to his 2012 hit. Packed with action, humour, and signature Punjabi flair, the film transports the chaos and charm of the original to the highlands of Scotland. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the sequel builds on the madcap energy of its predecessor while introducing a new set of eccentric characters and outrageous situations.

‘Son of Sardaar 2’ boasts a vibrant ensemble cast including Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Mrunal Thakur, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia, Sharat Saxena, Sahil Mehta, and a posthumous appearance by the late Mukul Dev.

Originally slated for release on July 25, the film was pushed to August 1—though the timing has proven challenging. With ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ emerging as a surprise hit and ‘Saiyaara’ continuing its strong run, ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ is facing stiff box office competition. Despite modest advance bookings of around 28,000 tickets in national chains, trade experts believe the film may struggle to stand out in a crowded release window this weekend.

Directed by Ashwani Dhir, the film features Devgn opposite Sonakshi Sinha and revolves around a man caught in a long-standing family feud. Known for its humour, action, and catchy music, the film found success with audiences despite mixed reviews.
