Mumbai: Smriti Mandhana’s wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal, which was set to be held on Sunday in Sangli, has been postponed indefinitely as the Indian women’s cricket team’s vice-captain’s father Shriniwas Mandhana was hospitalised due to some health complications. “Yes, Smriti’s father has been hospitalised in Sangli. The wedding has been postponed. Smriti is very clear that she is not getting married without her dad by her side,” a source present in Sangli for the wedding told TOI. As of now, its not clear what the health issue is with Smriti’s father. “We don’t know, tests are being done on her father, he’s under observation,” the source informed.For the last three days, Sangli has been buzzing with celebrations as several members of the Indian women’s cricket team gathered for Smriti Mandhana’s wedding festivities. Many of her closest teammates arrived in the city to join the pre-wedding ceremonies, turning the normally quiet hometown of the star opener into a hub of cricketing camaraderie. India’s 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup hero Jemimah Rodrigues flew in straight from Australia, where she was participating in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), to be part of the celebrations. She was joined by fellow teammates Richa Ghosh, Radha Yadav, Arundhati Reddy, and Shreyanka Patil, all of whom were seen actively participating in the functions and spending time with the Mandhana family.The guest list also featured senior figures from Indian women’s cricket. Former India captains Diana Edulji and Shubhangi Kulkarni were among those invited, highlighting the significance of the occasion within the cricketing community.
