The celebrations for Shah Rukh Khan’s first-ever National Award win are just getting started. In true King Khan style, he got together his closest friends to join him in celebrating the big win, photos of which, wife Gauri Khan shared on her hand. Today, still reeling with the surprise win, the actor took to his Twitter handle and put out an endearing and cute message to his wife.Responding to Gauri’s heartfelt post, SRK had the cutest request. “Please brag about me to me when we sit for dinner tonight… thanks for producing the film,” he commented, referring to Gauri’s role as producer on ‘Jawan’.
Dinner Date
Gauri had shared pictures from the celebratory evening with SRK and fellow National Award winners Karan Johar and Rani Mukerji, and wrote, “Three of my absolute favourites just WON big… and so did our hearts. When talent meets goodness, magic happens — so proud, and so ready to brag about them forever!”
The National Award Winners
While Shah Rukh was honoured with the Best Actor award for his performance in ‘Jawan’, directed by Atlee. Rani Mukerji received the Best Actress award for her powerful role in ‘Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway’, while Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ won the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
SRK’s Statement On His Win
Expressing his gratitude, Shah Rukh posted a video on social media saying, “I’m overwhelmed with gratitude, pride and humility. To be honoured with the National Award is a moment that I will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you so much to the jury, the chairman and to the INB ministry and to everyone who thought I was worthy of this honour.”He added a special mention to the filmmakers who shaped his remarkable 2023, saying, “…especially thanks to Atlee sir and his team for giving me the opportunity in Jawan and trusting me to deliver and be worthy of this award.”
