Salman Khan’s much-anticipated war drama ‘Battle of Galwan’ hit an unexpected roadblock with his Mumbai shoot at Mehboob Studios this August getting cancelled just before going into production. According to the latest reports, the makers reportedly opted for this last-minute change in schedule to maintain continuity in the film’s narrative and visual flow.
Shift In Schedule
A report on Mid-Day states that the makers have opted to shoot in Ladakh later between August 22 and September 3. Director Apoorva Lakhia is said to have made the ‘creative decision’ on the matter, to make sure that the action sequences are filmed without a long gap between schedules.The report further adds, “Salman sports a distinct look for the role, and for continuity, a 30-day break between Mumbai and Ladakh schedules wouldn’t work.” Previous reports indicated that the makers have planned a large-scale war sequence to be shot against the rugged terrain of Ladakh.
Sets Dismantelled
With the Mumbai schedule now delayed, the production team has reportedly begun dismantling the elaborate sets erected in the Bandra studio.
About The Film
Based on the true story of the India–China military clash in the Galwan Valley, the film will reportedly see Salman portraying Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the commanding officer who led his troops during the confrontation and was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra. The film is reportedly being positioned as a cinematic tribute to the valour of India’s armed forces.

The latest teaser reveals a parliament-inspired set design, aptly titled Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar, signalling a significant format revamp.
