
After a record-breaking start and two strong weeks at the box office, Mohit Suri’s romantic drama ‘Saiyaara’ has been showing signs of slowing down in its third week. On Day 21 (third Thursday), starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, dropped to a new low, earning an estimated Rs 1.85 crore, according to Sacnilk. Box Office Collections
‘Saiyaara’ opened to rave reviews and massive audience turnout, scoring Rs 172.75 crore in its opening week alone, and recording one of the highest-ever collections for a romantic drama in Bollywood. The film continued its strong momentum in Week 2, and managed to keep its collections above the Rs 100 crore mark. The movie collected Rs 107.75 crore, defying expectations for a film led by newcomers.However, Week 3 saw a noticeable dip in footfalls, with ‘Saiyaara’ earning an overall total collection of around Rs 27.95 crore. Despite the dip, the overall India net collection has now hit a solid Rs 308.45 crore.

It recently became the highest-grossing love story in Indian cinema history, crossing Rs 507 crore globally.
Stiff Competition
The film will have another weekend at the box office, battling it out with ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ and upcoming biggies like ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ and ‘Dhadak 2’, before the release of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s ‘War 2’ which hits theatres on the Independence Day extended weekend. Directed by Mohit Suri, ‘Saiyaara’ also features supporting performances by Ronit Roy, Sheeba Chaddha, and Rajesh Sharma.
