Women Empowerment and Tribal Pride Conference Held in Sarai, Singrauli District
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has stated that Singrauli is a border district of Madhya Pradesh, rich in mineral resources and a district close to the heart. The district will soon be gifted a medical college, and from next year, students from here will graduate as doctors. The Chief Minister was addressing the Women Empowerment and Tribal Pride Conference at Sarai village in Singrauli district on Friday. On the same day, an amount for purchasing laptops was transferred to 94,234 meritorious students across the state — 60% of them are girls and 40% boys. He said the state government is conducting welfare schemes for all sections of the tribals. Over 15 thousands scooters have been distributed to meritorious students in the last two years.
CM Dr. Yadav emphasised the government’s commitment to holistic development. Referring to the upcoming Guru Purnima on July 10, he announced that on this day, multiple facilities related to schools, colleges, hostels, and children’s welfare will be inaugurated across the state. Government school students will also receive bicycles, uniforms, and books. He stated that the Bhagavad Gita has a deep connection with Madhya Pradesh and announced plans to build a Vrindavan Gram to symbolise the friendship of Lord Krishna and Sudama. He urged children to never forget their less fortunate friends, no matter where life takes them.
Criticising the past regimes for gender inequality, CM Dr. Yadav noted that under the current government, the “Ladli Behna Yojana” ensures financial security for daughters from birth. Girls will receive over Rs. 1 lakh upon turning 18. Over Rs. 18,000 crore has been allocated for this scheme alone. More than 51 lakh “Ladli Betis” are now registered. Rs. 672 crore has been disbursed as scholarships to around 13 lakh girls.62 lakh rural women, organised in 5 lakh self-help groups, are being supported by the state government. 50% reservation is being provided to women in urban and rural local body elections, and they will also get 33% reservation in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. He announced that before Raksha-Bandhan, eligible sisters will receive an additional Rs. 250 as a festive gift, and after Diwali, each Ladli Behna will get Rs.1500 per month. He emphasised that when women have money in hand, households are better managed.
CM Dr. Yadav reiterated his government’s strong commitment to tribal welfare and farmer empowerment. CM Dr. Yadav revealed that 39% of Singrauli’s population belongs to the Scheduled Tribes, and around 5 lakh tribals are availing benefits under various government schemes. He recalls that Tributes were paid by holding Cabinet meetings in memory of Rani Durgavati and Raja Bhabhoot Singh. Farmers growing Shri Anna (millets) are receiving Rs. 1000 per quintal extra and Rs. 2600 per quintal for wheat, the highest in the country. Schemes like Birsa Munda Self-Employment, Tantya Mama Economic Welfare, PM Jan-Man Yojana, and Dharti Aba Tribal Village Upliftment Mission are benefiting the tribal population.
The Chief Minister made several important announcements in Singrauli, including that Four-lane roads will be constructed in the district. Mada Hospital will be upgraded to a Community Health Centre. A 100-bed hospital will be established in Sarai after a detailed survey. A four-lane road of 52 km will be built from Bargwa to Parswa. Singrauli has now been connected via air services, and air ambulances have been made available for emergency treatment. CM Dr. Yadav informed, a new system is being launched where hearse vans will transport deceased persons from hospitals to their homes in all districts.
To promote organ and body donation, the government has decided to give state honours to donors during their last rites, acknowledging their contribution to saving lives.
CM Dr. Yadav honoured four tribal beneficiaries of government schemes on stage during the Sammelan— Shri Mahabali Singh, Shri Shankar Singh Panika, Shri Vansh Bahadur Singh, and Shri Dayal Singh.
Singrauli Gets Development Projects worth Rs. 503 Crore
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated and performed Bhoomi-Poojan for 54 development projects worth Rs. 503.09 crore in the district. He Inaugurated 20 projects worth Rs. 104.67 crore, including New building of Sandipani Higher Secondary School in Chakariya, Power substation in Harfari, School building in Hirwah, Primary Health Centre, Asphalt work on 8 roads, College building in Bargwa, Lok Seva Kendras in Mada and Sarai and AYUSH wing facilities. CM Dr. Yadav performed Bhoomi-Poojan for 34 projects worth Rs. 398.42 crore, including Construction of 11 roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 400-bed hospital in the upcoming medical college, Tap water schemes and Road and drainage projects under Singrauli Municipal Corporation. He also performed Bhoomi-Poojan and inaugurations for 13 projects in Chitrangi Assembly, 25 projects in Singrauli Assembly, 15 in Deosar Assembly and1 in Dhouhani Assembly.
