Los Angeles based singer-songwriter and electronic music artist Iceamoureux, who maintains a presence on Instagram and Youtube recently shared what attracted him towards music and songwriting. Iceamoureux is a part of the collective group PHNTMX03, who are known for their dark aesthetic.Recently, Iceamoureux appeared in aninterview with The Grammys, where he reflected and gave a dive into what inspired his music and style.
What drew Iceamourex towards music
In the video posted on the official Instagram page of The Grammys, the musician shared about how he was disinterested in music, but later in middle school he drew inspiration from one of the hottest artists of that time, Lil Wayne. Iceamoureux shares, “When I was young, my parents forced me to play the piano at a young age, I hated it really. Until I was… like… in middle school, I heard Lil Wayne drop the song ‘Lollipop’, and that changed my life.”
How Iceamoureux ‘learned from the best’
Iceamoureux believes “If you wanna be the best, learn from the best.” He went on to describe how his appearance is also inspired from his favorite music icons. From hairstyle to earrings, pants to shoes, all of that reflects his music, he believes.
Iceamoureux shares why he loves K-pop
In another interview video with the Grammys, the singer-songwriter described why Kpop is a craft without borders and why his love for the genre goes well beyond being an Asian himself.Iceamoureux believes that Kpop offers a fresh angle to music. According to him, it offers a new perspective to the overall landscape of global music. Iceamoureux says, “What Kpop brings is a different angle for music. Whether it’s the style, the taste or the beats… you bring that over to the western world… which the western world has music at the top… It can just be even better. So for me it’s about optimising what’s the best. And, what Kpop does… it brings a different perspective.”Iceamoureux’s journey shows how modern artists are drawing inspiration beyond boundaries, blending personal experiences with global influences.
