“Turn off the comments if I were you,” warned one Instagram user, as Baltimore Ravens rookie kicker Tyler Loop’s first-ever post, a wholesome engagement announcement with five photos of him with his fiancée, Julia Otto, became a sitting target for severely frustrated Ravens fans. The celebratory moment, posted on March 9, 2025, was quickly eclipsed. Within minutes of the Ravens’ 26-24 season-ending loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, fans jammed the comments, transcending the count past 14,000.“Get a job,” “Hope you get divorced,” “Still have time to cancel the wedding,” “Had one job bro,” “I mean cmon it’s 44 yards,” “Get out of baltimore man,” “Loooooooser,” “Folks ain’t gone keep being patient with you,” “Retire man I could have made that and I’m a high school 2nd string WR,” “You career will forever be defined by this moment, always remember that,” and “I’m on indeed looking for your job.”
Ravens fans need to grow up
Sports media personality Dov Kleiman took to X to reportedly defend Tyler Loop, calling out the flood of hurtful Instagram comments from Ravens fans. He posted, “Yikes: Ravens fans have already started to spam Tyler Loop’s Instagram comments, wishing him the worst and hoping he gets divorced. Leave the kid alone. It’s not that serious… This is a terrible look for Baltimore.” Alongside his post, Kleiman shared a series of heart-wrenching IG comments, and later added, “It gets even worse… Ravens fans need to grow up.” His post quickly set off a flurry of responses, attracting attention to the angry backlash. One X user wrote, “Blaming the rookie kicker and not the defense that let Rodgers march the field with no timeouts and throw his only TD pass of the night with under a minute to go. Unserious fanbase.” Another declared, “These people aren’t fans—they are gamblers.”A third user wrote, “Fans are out of the loop.” A fourth user, a Ravens fan, added, “Ugh wtf is wrong with people. It’s not that serious. And this is coming from a ravens fan. People need to grow up.” A fifth user chimed in, “Sounds like a lot of angry gamblers…..”
Nine losses before Tyler Loop missed that kick
Among those angry comments, there was one IG user who stood up for Loop, saying, “It’s crazy all these ravens fans mad because of Tyler Loop when in reality as a team they underperformed throughout the entire season and it cost them the division. Tyler Loop is human people, calm down.”Another did too, “guys, this is a [—-] engagement post. Go troll his next post that is actually about him being a kicker.” A third X user joined in, “We had 9 losses before he even missed that kick. To blame Loop is insane. A kicker didn’t have soft coverage against a HOF QB who had ZERO timeouts.”Also Read: Buffalo Bills jump from 40-25 to 41-40 in 4 minutes; fans blame Ravens HC John Harbaugh saying–“This dude knows how to lose games”
