
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a review meeting of the Housing and Environment Department at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan), Nava Raipur. At the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai took stock of the activities undertaken by Nava Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials. The meeting was attended by Finance and Housing-Environment Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary of Housing and Environment Shri Ankit Anand, NRDA CEO Shri Chandan Kumar, Commissioner of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Shri Avnish Sharan, CEO of Raipur Development Authority Shri Akash Chhikara, along with other senior officials.

Chief Minister Sai emphasized that the systematic development of Nava Raipur is the foremost priority of the state government. He assured that the development of Naya Raipur will be ensured in a well-planned manner, with the objective to cater to the future requirements. He said that Nava Raipur stands among the most modern and aesthetically designed capital cities in the country. Renowned national-level institutions such as IIM, IIIT, and the National Law University have been established in this region. With an expected rise in population and settlement in Nava Raipur, Chief Minister underlined the necessity of expanding civic amenities in tandem with future demands.
Discussing the expansion of rail connectivity in the region, Chief Minister directed officials to actively work in that direction. He mentioned that the Government of India has initiated the construction of the new Paralkasa–Kharsia railway line, which will pass through Balodabazar district. Underlining the objective to connect this line to Nava Raipur, Chief Minister said that such a linkage would significantly improve the railway connectivity of the area, directly benefiting the general public.
Shri Sai also underscored the need to establish a logistics hub in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar in light of the expressway being constructed under the Bharatmala Project to connect with Visakhapatnam. He stated that this expressway will not only promote regional development but also boost import-export operations. Officials informed Chief Minister that approximately 95 percent of the expressway passing through Chhattisgarh has already been completed. Once operational, it is expected to reduce the travel distance between Raipur and Visakhapatnam by nearly 100 kilometres. The Chief Minister added that the state’s new industrial policy is attracting a significant number of investors, which will in turn generate employment opportunities for the youth.
Reviewing the development of the planned ‘Oxyzone’ in Nava Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Sai enquired about the plantation and growth of trees such as Peepal, Banyan, Karanj, Neem, Ashoka, Amaltas, and Gulmohar. Officials apprised him that there is a proposal to construct a Commission Bidding Complex in the region to accommodate future offices of various State Commissions, Boards, and Corporations. Additionally, a working women’s hostel, a 100-bed hospital, and a new police station are proposed for Nava Raipur.
Chief Minister Shri Sai directed that land parcels allocated for the construction of new buildings in Nava Raipur should be put to proper and optimal use. He also reviewed the functioning of all institutions under the Housing and Environment Department, including the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board, Chhattisgarh Housing Board, Directorate of Town and Country Planning, Chhattisgarh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), and the Raipur Development Authority, and issued appropriate instructions to the concerned officials.
