The government’s role is not merely to design schemes but to ensure that their benefits reach the last person in the queue, said Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai while addressing a “Samadhan Shivir” (Grievance Redressal Camp) held at Gram Panchayat Murmunda in Dhamdha block of Durg district today. “When we go from village to village conducting Grievance Redressal Camps, it is a testament to our accountability. Only a government that genuinely serves the people can undertake such an initiative,” he added.
Describing the Samadhan Camps as more than routine administrative events, the Chief Minister called them a vivid symbol of the government’s sense of responsibility towards the general public. “After completing one year in office, we presented a report card to the people. Now, after one and a half years, we are once again sharing an account of our work,” he added.
Durg is the 19th district where the Chief Minister has paid a visit under the ongoing Sushasan Tihar programme. “Receiving direct feedback from the public through surprise inspections and Sushasan Shivirs gives me immense satisfaction as it confirms that the benefits of our government’s work over the past 18 months are indeed reaching the people,” he said.
He further informed that a total of 2,630 applications were received at the Murmunda Camp, out of which 2,539 cases were resolved on the spot. Chief Minister Shri Sai assured the public that all remaining applications would also be addressed in a time-bound manner.
Every Household to Have Electricity and Tap Water
Highlighting key initiatives of his government, Chief Minister emphasized that efforts are underway to ensure electricity and tap water reach every household. He criticised the previous administration for depriving 18 lakh poor families of their rightful homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), thereby undermining the scheme. “Similarly, while water tanks were built under the tap water scheme, no arrangements were made to supply water. Our government rectified these shortcomings and implemented the schemes effectively on the ground,” he noted.
Welfare Schemes for Farmers, Labourers, and the Elderly
Shri Sai reiterated his government’s commitment to farmers by ensuring the procurement of 21 quintals of paddy per acre at Rs 3,100 per quintal, in accordance with its promise. Additionally, farmers have received bonuses for the past two years. Under the Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana, elderly citizens have been enabled to undertake pilgrimage tours. Over 22,000 people have already visited Ayodhya under the Shri Ramlala Ayodhya Dham Darshan Scheme.
Landless agricultural labourers are being provided with annual financial aid of Rs 10,000. The distribution of Swamitva (property ownership) cards is also being carried out at a rapid pace.
Land Registry System Reformed
Chief Minister Shri Sai also elaborated on reforms in the land registration system, stating that now, mutation will be automatically processed along with registration, sparing citizens from frequent visits to government offices. He added that a parent wishing to gift land to their children can now do so by executing a deed at just Rs 500.
Aadhaar-enabled Digital Service Centres in Panchayats
Highlighting the digital push, the Chief Minister informed that Atal Digital Seva Kendras are being established in Gram Panchayats. So far, such centres have been made operational in 1,460 Gram Panchayats, where daily banking transactions ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh are being conducted. The aim is to expand this facility to all Gram Panchayats within the next year.
Distribution of Benefits at the Camp
At the Samadhan Shivir, Chief Minister Shri Sai handed over house keys to beneficiaries under the PMAY scheme, job cards to MGNREGA workers, social security pensions to eligible recipients, and distributed Kisan Credit Cards (KCCs), cheques, and ATM cards to farmers.
He concluded his address by stating that governance is not merely about administration, but about serving the people. “Real good governance is achieved when the government reaches the doorsteps of its citizens,” he affirmed.
Sushasan Shivir was also addressed by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma and MLA Shri Domanlal Korsewada. Among other dignitaries present were Saja MLA Shri Ishwar Lal Sahu, former MLA Shri Premprakash Pandey, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, the Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri P. Dayanand, along with a large gathering of public representatives and villagers from Murmunda and 15 surrounding Panchayats
