
Under the ongoing statewide Sushasan Tihar, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today formally inaugurated 226 newly constructed houses under the Atal Vihar Scheme in village Murmunda. On this occasion, he ceremoniously handed over the keys to the beneficiaries, symbolically fulfilling their long-cherished dreams of home ownership. Personally facilitating the ‘Griha Pravesh’ (housewarming) of Mr. Tushar Sahu, the allottee of House No. 226, Chief Minister said, “Today, we are not merely giving you a house, but handing over your dream abode. This moment stands not only as a milestone in your personal journey but also as a testament to the government’s commitment to public welfare.”

Congratulating all the beneficiaries, Chief Minister Shri Sai reaffirmed that the Chhattisgarh Government is committed to ensuring that every citizen of the state is provided with safe and dignified housing. He stated that schemes like Atal Vihar not only offer residential facilities to the common man but also play a crucial role in advancing their social and economic empowerment. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Vijay Sharma was also present during the ceremony.

A Dream Realised after Years
Overjoyed Mr. Tushar Sahu, beneficiary of House No. 226, expressed his gratitude upon receiving the keys from the Chief Minister himself. “I always dreamed of living in a clean, peaceful, and beautiful environment. Today, that long-standing dream has come true,” he said. Calling the moment both proud and emotional, he added that the 2-BHK home is equipped with all essential amenities and is significantly more affordable than prevailing market rates. Mr. Sahu attended the event with his parents and family members. Chief Minister also visited his residence and appreciated the quality of construction.
Keys Handed Over to Several Beneficiaries
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also handed over the keys to other beneficiaries, including Mr. Rupnarayan Dewangan, Mr. Arun Sahu, and Mr. Chandrashekhar Rathore. Mr. Arun Sahu, the allottee of House No. 215 and an employee of Bhilai Steel Plant, shared, “Moving into my dream home before retirement is the most fulfilling experience of my life. The Atal Vihar Scheme has provided us the joy we had been awaiting for years.”
A Gift of Bright Residential Future
Under the Atal Vihar Scheme, implemented by the Chhattisgarh Housing Board, a total of 226 independent houses and 12 shops have been constructed over approximately 10 acres of land in village Murmunda, at a total cost of Rs 24 crore 57 lakh 98 thousand. Among the units, 55 houses fall under the EWS category, 69 are of LIG-A type, 86 are of B type, and 16 are of MIG type. The sale of all houses has been completed, and registry of seven units has also been executed.
