
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and his wife Mrs. Kaushalya Sai on Wednesday attended the *Pran Pratishtha* ceremony of the ancient Shri Jagannath Temple at village Dokra in Kansabel development block, following its renovation. Chief Minister Shri Sai offered prayers to Lord Jagannath, seeking peace, prosperity, and overall well-being for the state.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai also performed bhoomipujan for the construction of *Mahatari Sadan* in Dokra, a facility to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 24.74 lakh. He extended his gratitude to the members of the Shri Jagannath Temple Committee of Dokra and lauded their dedicated efforts.

It is noteworthy that the tradition of organizing the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Dokra has been ongoing since 1942. The inaugural procession was initiated by Pandit Late Sudarshan Satpathy and his wife Mrs. Sushila Satpathy of the village. The temple itself was originally constructed in 1968. Due to its dilapidated condition, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and his wife Mrs. Kaushalya Sai resolved to undertake its renovation. They also expressed their sincere appreciation to the villagers for their support in the endeavour.
