
CM Dr. Yadav Engages with McCain Foods’ Delegation
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the year 2025, declared as the “Year of Industry and Employment”, is shaping up to realise the state’s strong potential for industrial growth. With the state government’s continuous efforts, investment proposals are being received across various sectors. Investors will be provided with all necessary facilities, including land, under the state’s industrial policies for establishing their units.
CM Dr. Yadav made these remarks during a meeting with Shri Pierre Danet, Regional President of McCain Foods, and other members of the company’s delegation at Samatva Bhavan (CM’s residence) on Thursday.
Shri Pierre Danet informed that McCain Foods has proposed an investment of Rs. 3,800 crore in Madhya Pradesh to benefit farmers through contract farming, offering them a stable market, better prices, and access to advanced agricultural technologies. In the first phase, an investment of Rs. 1,800 crore will be made, which is expected to generate direct and indirect employment for 6,300 people.
McCain Foods, a global company, specialises in producing frozen potato-based products such as French fries, aloo tikki, and snacks. Established in Canada, the company has been playing a key role in India’s food sector since 2007. Currently, it operates a modern production unit in Mehsana, Gujarat, where it procures potatoes from local farmers to manufacture a variety of food products.
During the meeting, Principal Secretary, Industrial Policy & Investment Promotion, Shri Raghvendra Kumar Singh, and Commissioner, Public Relations, Dr. Sudam Khade were present.
