Desi girl turned global icon Priyanka Chopra is known to enjoy both an Indian and an international fanbase. However, three-time Grammy-winning musician Ricky Kej feels that Priyanka has not been “celebrated enough” in India, despite her talent and achievements. Kej took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared his strong opinion on the matter.

Rickey Kej shared a note where he appreciated the actress for her skills and versatility. At the same time, he mentioned that the kind of celebration that ‘The Bluff’ star deserves, she hasn’t recieved it from her home country. He wrote, “My Opinion: The one actor in India who we do not celebrate enough is @priyankachopra. She is the ONLY Indian actor (of any generation) who has truly made waves in Hollywood and globally (After being one of the most sought after in India for many years).” Kej further highlighted how PeeCee has starred with many of the Hollywood “giants” like Edris Alba, Dwayne Johnson, Keanu Reeves, Karl Urban, Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci, Will Ferrell, Anthony Mackie, John Cena, Pedro Pascal; “And the list goes on,” he adds.As for roles in International movies and series, Ricky Kej believes that Priyanka Chopra plays “actual mainstream roles”, and “not some vague character who is ‘exotic Indian’”. The Grammy-winning musician further stressed that Priyanka is widely recognized as a great actor who can perform any kind of role. She is an ambassador with UNICEF and gives back to society.

While Priyanka has continuously been working on international projects, she was absent from Indian cinema for a while. However, she is now making a comeback on the Indian big screen with SS Rajamouli’s epic ‘Globettroter’. And for her next international project, the Desi Girl is buckling up for a bold new chapter with ‘The Bluff’, where she plays Ercell Bodden. Her character is based on a fierce pirate, alongside Karl Urban. The R-rated adventure is set in the late 1800s and is scheduled to stream on Prime Video from February 25.
