PRAYAGRAJ: A man was arrested on Monday evening for allegedly killing his father, sister and niece over a property dispute in Lokapur Bisani village within the limits of Mauaima police station, police said.The incident came to light on Monday after a complaint filed by one Mukund Patel of Lokapur Bisani village. In his application, he registered a missing complaint about his father Ram Singh (55), sister Sadhana (30) and niece Astha (14) with Mauaima police. Mukund also levelled suspicion against his elder brother, Mukesh Patel, claiming that he could harm his family members. Acting on the complaint, a joint team of Mauaima police and SOG arrested Mukesh Patel. During interrogation, Mukesh admitted that he had a property dispute with his father as he had registered the four beegha property on his younger son, Mukund Patel’s name. Mukesh told police that he sought 10 biswa land from his father but he refused. Irked over this, he reached his father’s house on Jan 2 and tried to strangle him. Subsequently, taking advantage of the dense fog on the night of January 2, Mukesh dumped the bodies into a well near the house and covered it with straw, the senior officer said.Based on the accused’s confession, the three bodies were recovered from the well, and the axe used in the murders was also recovered, he added.
