
Pawan Kalyan’s gangster action drama ‘They Call Him OG’ was released on September 25th. Directed by Sujeeth, the film, after opening with strong numbers and high expectations, has been seeing a sharp drop. By Day 15, the movie had earned only Rs 75 lakh, despite being one of the highest-grossing Telugu films.As per Sacnilk, ‘They Call Him OG’ enjoyed a big opening week, collecting Rs 169.3 crore across all languages, with Telugu contributing Rs 164.75 crore. However, the momentum did not last long. By the second week, the film’s collections had declined. During the second weekend, the film earned barely around Rs 5 crore per day. As expected, the numbers dipped further on weekdays, with the film collecting just over Rs 1 crore each day. On Thursday, early reports suggest the film made Rs 75 lakh. This brings the total domestic collection to Rs 187.65 crore.
Theatre occupancy
On October 9th, ‘They Call Him OG’ recorded an overall Telugu occupancy of 17.25% in theatres. The film’s performance remained steady across different show timings, with morning shows registering 17.14% occupancy, followed by 16.53% in the afternoon. Evening and night shows saw a slight improvement, recording 17.75% and 17.59% occupancy, respectively.After completing its first week, the film faced competition in the second week from Kannada blockbuster ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty. The folklore drama took the box office by storm and minted over Rs 334.94 crore domestically in eight days.
