After the debacle of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Pawan Kalyan’s latest film They Call Him OG is setting new records for his career from this point onwards. The Sujeeth directed and Emran Hashmi’s debut film last week has gone on to become the 8th biggest hit of 2025 going past Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5. And in its third weekend the film has jumped one position to become the 7th biggest hit of 2025 going past Venkatesh’s action-comedy film Sankranthinki Vasthunam. Incidentally both the films are led by veteran actors like Venkatesh and Pawan Kalyan and both the films are currently the highest grossing films of their respective careers. They Call Him OG minted Rs 169.3 crore in its first week but in the second the collection dropped by about 89 % to collect just Rs 18.5 crore, while its Friday collection stood at just RS 83 lakh. This is the second day in a row that the film has failed to cross Rs 1 crore mark in it’s 16 day journey at the box office. But still thanks to a strong first week, the total collection of the film stands at Rs 188.63 crore well beyond Sankranthinki Vasthunam’s lifetime collection of Rs 186.97 crore. OG is now the 7th biggest hit of 2025. But the journey ahead for the film will be an uphill task as Rishab Shetty’s Kantara 2 is already making huge strides in the Telugu market. In its first week it earned more than Rs 66 crore from Telugu speaking states while OG’s week 2 collection was just Rs 18.5 crore. But given the strong pull for Pawan Kalyan the film is expected to close its lifetime collection around Rs 192 crore mark. In the North American market the film has crossed USD 5.5 million mark but it would still be a loss making venture at the breakeven amount is pegged atUSD 7.5 million.
