Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that new dimensions will be added to the tourism development of Amarkantak, which is globally renowned as a spiritual and tourist destination. It is the confluence and origin of the Narmada, Sone, and Johila rivers, making it a sacred land. The Madhya Pradesh government is committed to the holistic development of the Narmada Parikrama Path region, including the development of ghats, food zones, and large-scale plantation drives.
CM Dr. Yadav said that rivers are the source of prosperity, and special facilities will be built for Narmada pilgrims. The Ram Setu built at Amarkantak with a cost of Rs. 13 crore under the PRASAD scheme reminds one of the bridges in Rishikesh. He was virtually addressing the “Harit Mahabhiyan and Beneficiary Conference” held at Kotma in Anuppur district from Rewa on Friday. He inaugurated and performed Bhoomi-Poojan for 114 projects worth Rs. 443.31 crore in Kotma with the click of a button. He also announced NEET and JEE coaching facilities and inaugurated the newly constructed Ram Setu at Ram Ghat on the Narmada River in Amarkantak.
CM Dr. Yadav said that both the state and central governments are continuously developing religious and pilgrimage sites. He announced that, on the lines of Ayodhya Dham, a grand development project worth Rs. 2,800 crore will be undertaken in Chitrakoot Dham. The governments are also working on the construction of the 1,450 km long Ram Van Gaman Path. He assured that every sector in the changing Madhya Pradesh will witness comprehensive development. He described the launch of smart classes in 84 government schools in Anuppur to prepare students for NEET and JEE entrance exams as an innovative and exemplary initiative. He announced that Anuppur residents will soon benefit from clean drinking water, better roads, and enhanced education. A new Kendriya Vidyalaya is under construction in the district. The Bhoomi-Poojan performed for the Son Barrage, which will ensure ample water for irrigation and drinking. Soon, an indoor stadium and a regular stadium will be built at a cost of around Rs. 13 crore.
CM Dr. Yadav, greeting citizens in advance for Guru Purnima (July 10), said that on this occasion, bicycles will be distributed to school students, and several educational institutions will be inaugurated. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government is working with a mission to uplift farmers, women, youth, and the poor. He also reiterated that a 33% reservation for women is being ensured in government jobs.
Under the Ladli Behna Yojana, Rs. 250 as a festive gift will be transferred before Raksha Bandhan, and from Bhai Dooj after Diwali, Rs. 1,500 per month will be transferred to eligible sisters. The government aims to gradually raise this amount to Rs. 3,000 by 2028. He remembered Veerangana Rani Durgavati and Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, stating that their excellent administrative abilities continue to inspire us.
CM Dr. Yadav, describing the key welfare and infrastructure achievements, said that the state government enabled 2 crore people to be lifted above the poverty line. Per capita income in Madhya Pradesh has reached Rs. 1.52 lakh. Textbooks are being provided on time to school students, and soon, uniforms, scooters, and bicycles will also be distributed. On July 10, bicycles will be distributed to students across the state. The Sandipani School Model is emerging as a unique gift to the state’s education system.
CM Yadav stated that Solar pumps are being given to farmers with a 90% subsidy. Irrigation coverage is being expanded. Through the Gau-Sanvardhan Board, the promotion of dairy farming will boost milk production and farmer incomes. He announced the approval of long-pending promotion processes for state government employees, stuck for 9 years. Around 2 lakh new government posts are expected to be filled, and recruitment drives for 1 lakh posts are already underway.
The state has launched a scheme under which those who help road accident victims reach hospitals will receive Rs. 25,000 under the Rahgiri Yojana. The government is also providing air ambulance services for critical patients. CM Dr. Yadav emphasised the nobility of body donation, calling it an expression of compassion and a path to immortality. The state has decided to honour body donors with a Guard of Honour during their last rites.
Minister of State for Forest and Environment and Anuppur’s in-charge minister Shri Dilip Ahirwar, said that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly progressing under CM Dr. Yadav’s leadership, with simultaneous development in industry and religious sites, creating new job opportunities for youth. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Cottage and Village Industries Shri Dilip Jaiswal said the government is advancing with the resolve of “development through heritage”, and new industrial companies have begun operations in the district.
The program was attended by Shri Ramlal Rautel, Chairperson of the State Coal Development Corporation, Smt. Preeti Ramesh Singh, Chairperson of the District Panchayat, and several other urban and rural representatives, dignitaries, and a large number of citizens.
