Kolkata Knight Riders have announced Tim Southee, the New Zealand cricket legend, as their new bowling coach for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 season.Southee brings extensive international cricket experience and tactical knowledge to KKR’s coaching staff, having previously played for the franchise.The pacer has been a vital part of New Zealand cricket for more than 15 years, participating in over 100 Test matches, 150 ODIs, and 120 T20 Internationals. He has taken more than 700 international wickets across all formats.

I look forward to working closely with the bowlers and helping the team achieve success in IPL 2026,” said Southee.His leadership qualities were evident as he captained New Zealand in multiple formats and played crucial roles in their 2019 ICC World Cup campaign and 2021 ICC World Test Championship victory.Southee’s connection with KKR goes back to his playing days when he was part of the squad from 2021 to 2023.
