
NOIDA: A man was arrested near Char Murti roundabout in connection with a case where a dhaba worker was beaten to death in Gaur City-2 last week. Police have arrested the main accused in the case, while they are still looking for their third accomplice.According to police, on the intervening night of Oct 3 and 4, accused Kaushal Mishra and his friends Nitin Kumar and Dheeraj Thapa reached Gopal Ji Dhaba near Gaur City-2 and demanded that they pack food for them late at night. The dhaba owner, Varun Kaushik, reportedly refused as the shop was closed.This enraged the trio, who began arguing with the staff. The altercation soon turned violent, and the men started beating up a worker at the dhaba, Neetu Kashyap. CCTV footage captured the men assaulting Kashyap, who sustained serious injuries and collapsed on the spot.

Bystanders rushed Kashyap to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.Kaushik subsequently filed a complaint at Bisrakh police and an FIR was registered against the three accused under BNS sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 3(5) (common intention). The primary accused, Nitin Kumar, a resident of Gaur City-2, was arrested earlier this week and sent to jail. Police subsequently intensified the search for his associates, and Mishra was arrested on Thursday following a tip-off. “The accused was on the run since the incident. He was traced through surveillance and local intelligence inputs. Efforts are on to locate the third accused, Dheeraj Thapa, who is still absconding,” said additional DCP (central Noida).Police said that interrogation revealed that all three accused were under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred. The body of the deceased was handed over to his family after post-mortem, and his relatives have demanded strict punishment for the accused, cops added.
