NTA NEET UG application 2026: Based on various reports, the registration of NEET UG 2026 will start in early February at the National Testing Agency (NTA). Although the official announcement is yet to be received, it is being indicated that the application form of the single largest medical entrance examination of India may be offered on the first week of next month on the official site, neet.nta.nic.in.NEET UG is the sole national level entrance examination to be used in admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical courses in the country. According to the past timelines, the examination will most probably be organized in May 2026.
Registration period should take up to five weeks
Although NTA has not actualized any specific dates, historical trends indicate that the registration should take between four to five weeks. At this stage, the candidates will have to undergo the registration process online, provide their personal and academic information, and put in the application fee and documents.It also has an option of a correction window after the application deadline with an option of an applicant changing the choice of fields in the application form. It has been recommended that students can only use the official site of NTA to keep updated and not to use unofficial links or third-party portals.
Documents that are required by the candidates
Applicants are encouraged to organize their papers early enough to prevent the last minute rush. These include:
- Class 10 certificate (proof of date of birth)
- Appearing certificate or class 12 mark sheet.
- Passport-sized photograph
- Thumb impression and signature.
- Authentic ID documents like Aadhaar.

Application fee is unlikely to be modified
NEET UG 2026 application fee should be in the format it was in last year. Pattern and tentative schedule of exam
NEET UG 2026 is likely to be held in the offline form (pen-and-paper), taking three hours of time. Physics, Chemistry and Biology are the subjects of the question paper that will consist of 180 questions. Every correct answer will be awarded four marks with one mark being deducted on every wrong answer.The admit cards will most probably be issued a few weeks prior to the date of examination.
