NEET PG counselling 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the deadline for reporting, and resignation for round 2 of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2025. Candidates are allowed to complete these formalities till 4 pm on December 29, 2025, as per the latest official update on the website, mcc.nic.in.The MCC has stated that the reporting and resignation timeline for round 2 of postgraduate counselling 2025 has been extended to allow candidates additional time. Those who were unable to report or complete joining within the earlier schedule can use this extension to confirm their admission. Candidates who wish to opt out of their allotted seat can also submit their resignation within the extended deadline.Previously, the reporting and joining for NEET PG 2025 round 2 was to be done from December 17 to December 25, 2025. NEET PG counselling 2025 round 2 : Key details
The round 2 counselling process began with choice filling and locking from December 6 to December 14, 2025. The seat allotment process was carried out on December 15 and 16, and the round 2 seat allotment result was declared on December 16, 2025.Through NEET PG 2025 counselling, admission will be offered to a total of:
- 26,168 Doctor of Medicine (MD) seats
- 13,649 Master of Surgery (MS) seats
- 922 Postgraduate Diploma seats
- 1,338 Diplomate of National Board (DNB) CET seats
These seats are available across 6,102 medical colleges and 649 hospitals in India. The MCC conducts four rounds of All India Quota (AIQ) counselling for candidates who qualify in NEET PG 2025.
