Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s romance is one of Bollywood’s most enduring real-life love stories, but few know that actress Neelam Kothari played an unintentional role in bringing the two together. The surprising revelation was made by Neelam herself while gracing the stage of Indian Idol during its special Season of Love celebrations.
‘One of the reasons Gauri and I got married is because of you’
As seen in the latest promo of the show, Neelam shared an interesting conversation she once had with Shah Rukh Khan. Recalling his words, she said, “A few months back Shah Rukh was telling me, ‘You know Neelam, one of the reasons Gauri and I got married is because of you.’”She went on to explain how King Khan elaborated on the story behind the revelation. “He was telling me that when I was doing films, he was a big fan, and Gauri was also a big fan. So both of them used to watch my films together. So that’s how the romance started. They went to watch Neelam’s film together, and I did not know that.”
‘I had no idea my films played cupid’
Neelam further summed up the moment with a smile, adding, “So one of the reasons Shah Rukh and Gauri are together is because of me.” She admitted that she had no idea her films unknowingly played cupid in what would go on to become one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated love stories.
