Actor Narain opens up about his role as a scientist in Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Jana Nayagan’, which is reportedly the superstar’s last before entering politics. Narain described the experience of working with Vijay as simple and reticent, noting that the realization of it being a farewell film didn’t fully sink in during production.

Actor Narain, known for his memorable turns in films such as ‘Classmates’, ‘Achuvinte Amma’, and ‘Chithiram Pesuthadi’, is currently awaiting the release of his next ‘Jana Nayagan’. ‘Jana Nayagan’ is Vijay’s farewell film, before he completely shifts focus to politics. With the Madras High Court ordering the Censor Board to grant film censor clearances, all eyes are on the release date.

Narain, who has roped in to play a crucial role in the film, has opened up about working with superstar Vijay. The actor, who is quite choosy about the films he does, says that this time around, the film chose him. “When it comes to Jana Nayagan, meanwhile, I did not choose the film; it chose me instead,” he told The New Indian Express.

Narain talks about sharing screen space with Vijay

Though Narain is a household name for the Tamil cinema viewers, ‘Jana Nayagan’ marks his first film with Vijay. He also has a couple of scenes with the superstar.Narain, who has met Vijay a couple of times earlier, says that the major difference between then and now is that he has become a bigger star. But that doesn’t change how Vijay treats his colleagues. “He is as simple and reticent as ever. Perhaps this explains why, while shooting with him, the realisation about it being his final film never really dawned on me. Like everyone else, the feeling is yet to sink in for me also.” Recalling the last day of shoot, Narain said, “We cannot think about it being a farewell or send-off at the time of production.”So, what role does Narain play? “The only thing I can say is that I play a scientist and have an intense role in the film.”On the work front, Narain has just delivered the critically acclaimed film ‘Eko’ and the ‘Pharma’ series in Malayalam. He also has a couple of projects lined up for release in Tamil. On the other hand, the Madras High Court ordered the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to grant film censor clearance for Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ on Friday. However, the new release date is yet to be announced.
