Soon, the late singer’s mother, Charan Kaur, expressed her disbelief and anguish at the occurrence. She shared an Instagram post in Punjabi on Tuesday and stated that the attack was a “wound to my soul.” She went on to say that her son’s adversaries would not leave him alone even after his death.
Sidhu Moosewala’s mother’s post after shots were fired at his statue
The mother of the singer, who was shot dead by gangsters in 2022, posted, “My son remained the voice of the people’s rights, and an attempt is being made to silence him even after he went to the Almighty.”His mother mentioned in the post that the singer lives on within everyone even after his demise. She added, “I want to tell everyone that one day, the guilty will definitely be punished for their actions. Our silence is not our defeat.”
Who installed the statue of Sidhu Moosewala?
Digvijay Chautala, the state president of the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), had installed the statue of the singer-rapper in 2024. After shots were fired at the statue a few days ago, the news spread on social media like a wildfire.According to PTI, Chautala had received a video on July 29 from a foreign number that showcased firing at the statue. Reportedly, it was not just a clip but a threat stating that those who sympathise with Moosewala will be the next targets. Later, a case was filed against unknown persons in Dabwali of Sirsa district.
Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims responsibility
According to the Live Hindustan report, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the incident. As per the report, in a post on social media, the gang threatened and warned everyone who erected the statue, saying people misleading the people by giving Sidhu Moosewala a martyr status will be on their target.Reportedly, Arzoo Bishnoi and Goldy Dhillon stated that Digvijay Chautala and Gagan Khokri are misleading the public. The gang members warned them to install statues of soldiers like Bhagat Singh instead of a singer.
