After a not so encouraging run at the box office since Pandemic, Akshay Kumar is turning out to be a phoenix at the box office who has risen from the ashes with films like Housefull 5, Sky Force and Kesari 2. His latest release Jolly LLB 3 with Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla and director Subhash Kapoor has continued its decent run at the box office over the second week as well where it has added Rs 19.5 crore over the past 4 days taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 93.50 crore. And with that the film has become the 4th biggest Akshay Kumar grosser beating Kesari 2 since Pandemic. Kesari 2 directed by Karan SIngh Tyagi and backed by Karan Johar is based on Raghu and Pushpa Palat’s book- The Case that Shook the Empire which brought to light the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Jolly LLB 3 minted Rs 74 crore in its first week and over the 2nd weekend it added Rs 16.5 crore with Monday adding another Rs 3 crore to its kitty. And in just 11 days Akshay’s film has gone past his other films like Samrat Prithviraj with Rs 68.25 crore, Bachchan Pandey with Rs 51.04 crore and Kesari 2 ; Rs 92.74 crore . The films ahead of Jolly LLB 3 are Sky Force with Rs 113.62 crore, Housefull 5 with Rs 183.38 crore and Sooryavanhi with Rs 195.55 crore. The journey ahead for the film is going to be an uphill task as next week sees not one but two big films clashing at the box office, one is Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 and Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Both the films are currently involved in a lockjam as distributors are asking for maximum screens for themselves. With this battle the existing films are going to bear the brunt . Akshay will be next seen in Priyadarshan’s Bhoot Bangla with Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi and Paresh Rawal. He’s currently shooting for Haiwaan again with Priyadarshan and he’s teamed up with Saif Ali Khan for the first time since Tasha
