Vir Das and Kavi Shashtri’s directorial ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’ is set to release in theatres this Friday, January 16 and the first reviews of the film are out. While the trailer was quirky and gave all the vibes of ‘Delhi Belly’, the first reviews of the movie also seem encouraging. The film which marks Vir’s directorial debut also sees him in the lead role. The film also stars Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, Mithila Palkar, Srushti Tawade, and Imran Khan, who returns to the big screen after a long gap.As the reviews start coming in, actor Fatima Sana Sheikh has shared her reaction to the film, calling it a thoroughly entertaining watch packed with humour and energy. Her praise has further added to the buzz surrounding the spy comedy ahead of its theatrical release.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Fatima posted a detailed note after watching the film. “Just Finished watching #HappyPatel. Such a fun ride, full dhamaal! Congratulations to the team sab ki kya badiya performance hai!! Ek se Badhkar Ek! All the best doston.”Triptii Dimri also gave the film a shoutout to the film. She shared a snippet and wrote, “Finally got to watch Happy Patel and I’m so impressed…the film is such a joy from start to finish.” Encouraging audiences to catch it on the big screen, she added, “Go catch it in cinemas on 16th January, you don’t want to miss this.” Responding to her post, Vir Das wrote, “Thank you so much Triptii!”

Meanwhile, a user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “You are not prepared for #HappyPatel. One hell of an entertainer if you enjoyed the humour of The Bads of Bollywood and The Dictator. Dialogues are outstanding even though nothing makes sense. #VirDas is CRAZY, WILD and what not! He has one agenda and that is to make sure you laugh out loud till the end. Well accompanied by Sharib Hashmi, Mona Singh, Mithila Palkar and others. Be prepared for #AamirKhan’s cameo that is one of the best cameos in recent times. Be prepared for Suresh Buzurg.” The user further said, “Happy Patel has a very risky comedy and works only because @thevirdas has deep understanding of what it’s doing. Don’t try to copy without proper training! Imran Khan’s cameo works partially but the part that works is too good. And wait for #ShahRukhKhan integration to take you on a mad ride!” Even before its release, the film has scored a significant legal win. The Madras High Court recently issued an anti-piracy injunction in favour of Aamir Khan Films, which is backing the Hindi spy comedy. The order, issued ahead of the January 16 release, aims to prevent unauthorised sharing or broadcasting of the film. Also See: Hindi Movies | Telugu Movies | Tamil Latest Movies
