As rumours continued to circulate online, he clarified that the incident had been misinterpreted and urged people to avoid spreading false information.
Govinda’s manager describes late-night incident
As per a report by ANI, he shared that the incident took place late at night, around 3 to 3:30 a.m., when a group of unidentified people allegedly gathered near Govinda’s house. He said the situation was tense and could have become serious if the actor hadn’t reacted swiftly to protect himself. He also highlighted that Govinda’s actions were purely instinctive and motivated by self-defense, insisting that the actor did nothing wrong.

The manager mentioned that there was no security present at the time, which made the situation even more concerning. He noted that things could have taken a dangerous turn, but Govinda acted responsibly and managed to prevent any escalation. Emphasizing transparency, the manager stated that the matter was officially reported to the police and a formal entry was made at the local station. He added that video footage and other evidence are available and can be provided if required, reaffirming that nothing illegal took place.

He strongly denied reports depicting Govinda as a criminal or suggesting any violent behaviour, calling such claims unfounded and damaging. He added that tense or confusing situations can happen to anyone and shouldn’t be exaggerated. The manager also said that those close to the actor know the real facts and can confirm that Govinda has no involvement in any criminal matter. He urged the media and the public to verify information before spreading fear or misinformation.
Govinda questioned by police after a gunshot incident
A day after Govinda was admitted to the hospital following an accidental self-inflicted gunshot, the Juhu Police questioned him as part of routine procedure. Police sources mentioned that there is currently no evidence suggesting foul play, though additional questioning may take place. The Mumbai Crime Branch has also launched a parallel investigation. According to PTI, a team led by senior police inspector Daya Nayak visited Govinda at the hospital to piece together the incident. The actor explained that his revolver accidentally slipped from his hand and went off, injuring his leg. At the time of the incident, which occurred last year, Govinda was reportedly alone at home.
