Apple and Google’s AI partnership for Siri: What we know so far
According to a CNBC report, the agreement between Apple and Google is a long-term partnership. Under this deal, Apple will use Google’s Gemini AI models and cloud technology to develop upcoming versions of its own Apple Foundation Models. So far, neither company has revealed the technical details or the financial terms of the deal. The next version of Siri is expected to arrive with iOS 26.4, which is likely to be released for users by April.Apple introduced its Apple Intelligence system at WWDC 2024, announcing features such as Notification Summaries, Writing Tools, Image Playground, Genmoji, and more. At the same event, Apple also unveiled an upgraded version of Siri with new abilities like understanding personal context, performing actions within apps, and recognising what’s on the screen. While Apple has already rolled out most of the Apple Intelligence features announced at WWDC 2024, the updated Siri was delayed. In May 2025, Apple said the rollout was taking longer than expected.
