AGRA: Three men died on the spot while two others were hurt in a head-on collision between two speeding bikes in dense fog on a busy village road in UP’s Etah district on Sat night, police said, adding the incident happened around 11pm in Awagadh area.SHO Awagadh, Awadesh Kumar Dixit, said, “Prima facie, it appeared the riders couldn’t notice each other, and lost control of their two-wheelers near the road turn. Chhotu Singh along with kin Gaurav and Rahees Pal were travelling from Awagarh to Nidhouli Kalan, while Pradeep and Gyan Singh were heading in the other direction. They crashed head-on.”Gaurav (28), Pradeep (30) and Gyan Singh (55) died on the spot, Etah SP (crime) Yogesh Singh said, adding that injured Chhotu (35) is battling for his life at a health centre. Rahees survived with bruises. Singh said Chhotu and Pradeep were riding their respective bikes, with others behind them.Gaurav belonged to Gadanpur village, said Rajkumar, a local resident who knew the family. “He was the eldest among three siblings, and was working as a confectioner in Maharashtra for the past six years,” he added.Gyan and Pradeep (both from the same village) were returning after dropping a veterinary doctor who had come to treat their cattle.
