BENGALURU: ElevenLabs, a voice AI startup valued at about $6.6 billion, has appointed Karthik Rajaram as general manager and country head for India, as the company sharpens its focus on the market amid rising adoption of AI-generated voice and audio tools.In his new role, Rajaram will lead ElevenLabs’ go-to-market strategy and revenue growth in India, while building partnerships across the country’s AI, media and enterprise ecosystem, the company said on Monday.Rajaram brings more than two decades of experience in scaling technology businesses in India. He most recently served as general manager and vice president for India and South Asia at Elastic, where he led the company’s regional expansion and helped position India as a strategic growth market. He has previously held senior roles at Freshworks, Akamai Technologies and Microsoft, working across cloud, security and enterprise adoption.“India is at the epicentre of the global AI and digital content shift, and the use cases for AI voice are expanding rapidly across media, entertainment, customer engagement, gaming and education,” Rajaram said in a statement.ElevenLabs said India is a key growth market for its AI voice and audio products, citing the country’s large developer base, expanding digital economy and growing demand for conversational AI across enterprises and content platforms.The company has been scaling its India presence over the past year and currently has a go-to-market team of more than 13 people in the country. It works with Indian companies including Meesho, Cars24, 99acres, TVS Motor, Mahindra, JioStar and Pocket FM, particularly on conversational AI and customer engagement use cases.Founded in 2022, ElevenLabs develops AI models and tools for voice generation and audio synthesis, used by enterprises, developers and creators for applications ranging from content creation to customer interaction.
