
NOIDA: A group of youths claiming to be affiliated with the Samajwadi Party allegedly slapped Maulana Sajid Rashidi in Noida after a news channel’s debate show, accusing him of making derogatory remarks against party MP Dimple Yadav.One of the youths involved in the incident posted a purported video on social media, claiming responsibility for assaulting Maulana Sajid Rashidi.The altercation followed Rashidi’s alleged derogatory remarks about Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav, reportedly made in response to her recent visit to a mosque.On Tuesday, Rashidi attended a news channel’s debate programme in Noida, where he was confronted and slapped by a group of youths claiming to be affiliated with the Samajwadi Party.Kuldeep Bhati, who claimed to be state secretary, Yuvjan Sabha, Samajwadi Party, posted a video on social media site ‘X’, saying Maulana Rashidi has been “treated”. “We will treat in the same way anyone who makes derogatory comments against any woman of India,” he added in his video.According to police, Maulana Sajid Rashidi has filed a complaint against three individuals — Kuldeep Bhati, Mohit Nagar, and Shyam Singh — at Sector 126 police station.
