‘Dhurandhar’, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, has added a page to the box office history books, by crossing another huge milestone. As per the latest reports, the film that is gearing up for its digital debut on Friday, January 30, has officially crossed the Rs 1,000 crore gross mark at the Indian box office in 53 days of its release. Box office estimates on Sacnilk, show that the film that entered its eigth week at the box office, managed to rake in above Rs 1 crore over the weekend, holding up well against the new war drama ‘Border 2’ which had an impressive Rs 177 crore haul over the Republic Day weekend.
‘Dhurandhar’ creates box office history
‘Dhurandhar’ has now reportedly become the first Indian film in history to gross over Rs 1,000 crore net with its release in just a single language – Hindi. Previous record-holders like ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, and ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, all enjoyed wide releases in multiple languages to reach this mark.
‘Dhurandhar’ gears up for OTT release
With the film now past the Rs 1,000 crore mark, the makers are now gearing up for the film’s digital take over. ‘Dhurandhar’ which had a grand theatrical release on December 5, will now release online on Netflix on January 30, well in time before its sequel arrives on March 19.

Meanwhile, work is in full swing for the release of the sequel, ‘Dhurandhar 2, which is officially slated for a grand theatrical release on March 19, 2026. As per the latest reports, the film titled ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has secured a certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for its multiple teaser cuts. As per reports, the film will have different versions of the teaser to suit different platforms. While Teaser 1A has been granted a U/A 16+ certificate with a runtime of 1 minute and 9.6 second, Teaser 2 and Teaser 2A have reportedly both received an A (Adults Only) rating, with runtimes of 1 minute 48 seconds and 1 minute 9.6 seconds, respectively.
