After Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur were caught on camera hugging at the ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ premiere in August, rumors spread among fans that the two were in love. While the word is still fresh, a simple comment by Dhanush on Mrunal Thakur’s recent Instagram post has reignited these rumors. The one-line comment, even simple, became a huge online sensation.
Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush’s friendly exchange
Mrunal Thakur recently announced her new film ‘Do Deewane Shaher Mein’. She shared an animated teaser of this film, which stars Siddhanth Chaturvedi in the lead role, on Instagram. The theme music composed by Anurag Saikia is the highlight of the film. Under the video, Dhanush wrote, “Looks and sounds good,” to which Mrunal Thakur replied with heart and sunflower emojis. This small exchange quickly went viral on social media. Some called Mrunal Thakur his ‘girlfriend’ and others nicknamed the two of them ‘thalaiva’ and ‘thalaivi’.
‘3’ theme music sparks debate
But apart from this, some fans raised allegations that the film’s theme music is similar to the songs from Dhanush’s 2012 film ‘3’. “This is like your ‘Kannazhaga’ from ‘3’ movie file a copyright case, no one should copy your GF,” one person commented sarcastically. On several platforms, including YouTube, others pointed out the similarity to the background music of ‘3’ composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The theme music itself sparked another debate.
Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur busy with their respective films
Dhanush has recently appeared in the films ‘like Kubera’ directed by Shekhar Kammula, and ‘Idli Kadai’, which he wrote, directed, and starred in. Dhanush will be next seen in Aanand L Rai’s directorial venture ‘Tere Ishk Mein’, which is set to release on November 28th. On the other hand, Mrunal Thakur was recently seen in ‘Son of Sardaar 2’. Currently, she has several films lined up, including ‘Do Deewane Shaher Mein’ and ‘Dacoit: A Love Story’ with Adivi Sesh.
