
“Social Harmony is Key to Building a Strong Society and Nation” – CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the Madhya Pradesh government is consistently working toward the holistic development of society and strengthening social harmony in accordance with the ideals of the Constitution’s architect, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He emphasized that the state’s welfare schemes are bringing about rapid and positive change in the social landscape. According to him, inclusive development strengthens unity and fosters a spirit of mutual support even during difficult times — this is the essence of social harmony, which ultimately leads to a stronger nation.
CM Dr. Yadav will attend the ‘Samrasata Program’ in Gwalior on Saturday, where he will perform the foundation laying ceremony of Ambedkar Dham at Jaurasi village. This site will serve as a vibrant center for promoting the ideas of social justice, equality, and harmony inspired by Dr. Ambedkar. On this occasion, the Chief Minister will distribute benefits of various government schemes, administer a pledge for social harmony, and honor individuals who have made exceptional contributions to fostering social unity. The event will also include expert talks on social cohesion and a community meal (Sahbhoj).
State Government’s Commitment to Social Harmony
In honor of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s thoughts and contributions, the state government has launched several schemes focusing on education, employment, cultural preservation, and social justice to strengthen social harmony.
Empowerment schemes for the Scheduled Caste (SC) community to promote social inclusion, economic advancement, educational progress, and preservation of cultural heritage. Inclusion of five major places associated with Dr. Ambedkar — Mhow (birthplace), Delhi (Mahaparinirvan site), Nagpur (Deeksha Bhoomi), Mumbai (Chaitya Bhoomi), and London (education site) — in the CM Teerth Darshan Yojana. Comprehensive development of Dr. Ambedkar’s birthplace at Mhow with a memorial, museum, park, auditorium, and welcome gate. It is also being developed into an international center for faith and research. Renovation and expansion of Dr. Ambedkar Memorial, Library, and Hall in Bhopal.
For Economic Upliftment and Education-Centric Support, since 2004, the Dr. Ambedkar Economic Welfare Scheme has been providing loans and interest subsidies to unemployed SC youth for self-employment. Recently launched Dr. Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana promotes dairy farming by providing up to 33% subsidy on loans up to ₹42 lakh. Under the Dr. Ambedkar Udyog Uday Yojana, SC/ST entrepreneurs are being supported in the MSME sector. The Dr. Ambedkar Meritorious Student Award Scheme grants up to ₹30,000 to SC students scoring high marks in board exams. The Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship and Fellowship Schemes support higher and international education. Residential training and scholarships are being provided through Dr. Ambedkar Technical Education Institutes in Sehore and Morena.
For Cultural Recognition and Infrastructure Development, In April 2025, the Dr. Ambedkar Wildlife Sanctuary was established in Sagar district. The longest flyover in Bhopal has been named after Dr. Ambedkar. In June 2025, the Ambedkar Gaushala Development Scheme was approved to help gaushalas with over 5,000 cattle become self-reliant. The Dr. Ambedkar Social Harmony Campaign conducts awareness activities at the panchayat level, including rallies, plays, competitions, and Constitution education drives. Several bus stands, roads, parks, libraries, and colleges have been named after Dr. Ambedkar. In 2016, Mhow Railway Station was renamed Ambedkar Nagar Station.
National-Level Initiatives include the Central Government has taken significant steps to disseminate Dr. Ambedkar’s philosophy, ideals, and contributions to strengthen social justice, empowerment, and inclusive growth. Dr. Ambedkar was posthumously conferred the Bharat Ratna in 1990, honoring his national contribution. Sites associated with his early life — Sankalp Bhumi (Banyan Tree Campus) in Baroda and Prataprao Bhonsale High School in Satara, Maharashtra — have been declared national heritage monuments. The Ministry of Social Justice has established Dr. Ambedkar Centres of Excellence in various universities to support SC students with access to quality higher education. To promote digital transactions, the BHIM App was launched in Dr. Ambedkar’s honor, becoming a symbol of India’s digital financial empowerment. The Dr. Ambedkar National Institute of Social Cooperation and Empowerment runs the DACE Scheme, offering free civil services coaching to SC students, along with housing support.
The welfare schemes implemented by the Madhya Pradesh government go beyond assistance — they serve as effective tools for embedding social harmony in everyday life. Under the leadership of CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state is moving toward a society where every community is given equal opportunity, dignity, and active participation in development.
