The 79th Independence Day was celebrated across the country with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm, and joy. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav hoisted the national flag at the state-level ceremony held at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal, inspected the parade, and took the salute. In the parade, the armed forces performed celebratory firing in three rounds, while the police band filled the atmosphere with the spirit of love, pride, service, and dedication to the nation through the tunes of the National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ and patriotic songs. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on Independence Day and delivered a message to the people. For the first time, the Chief Minister’s message was telecast live across the state and broadcast during Independence Day celebrations at all district headquarters. The event was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana, freedom fighters, public representatives, social workers, school students and a large number of citizens.
Remembering Sacrifice and Devotion of Martyrs and Freedom Fighters
Addressing the people of the state on the 79th Independence Day, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav first paid homage to the martyrs of the freedom struggle. He said that the soil of Madhya Pradesh has been the birthplace of countless leaders who sacrificed everything to protect Mother India.
Operation Sindoor Showed India’s Power
CM Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, ‘Operation Sindoor’ showcased India’s strength, capability and the valour of the Indian armed forces to the world. Under PM Modi’s leadership, India has given a strong message to those casting an evil eye on the country’s unity and integrity.
‘Self-Reliant and Developed India’ Possible Only Through Commitment to Swadeshi
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasised that the path to building a self-reliant and developed India lies in an unwavering commitment to Swadeshi. He said, “With dedication to Swadeshi, we will create a self-reliant and developed nation. Our people simply need to recognise their own strength and capability. I am proud to say that Madhya Pradesh is becoming a medium to fulfil the collective resolve of millions of Indians for an ‘Atmanirbhar’ and ‘Developed’ Bharat”. CM Dr. Yadav added that this day is also a pledge that our effort and courage will adopt Swadeshi in the interest of the nation and promote it. Swadeshi, ingrained in the soul of India, is not merely an economic policy but a mantra of self-respect, self-reliance, and global leadership. With PM Modi’s call for ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Local for Global’, every sector—technology, manufacturing, startups, agriculture, energy and defence—must be built on a Swadeshi foundation. This means every product should be made with our skills, labour and resources. Just as a thread of Khadi empowered the freedom struggle, every step towards Swadeshi will take us closer to a developed India.
State Aims to Double Budget in Next Four Years
CM Dr. Yadav said that the FY 2025–26 budget aims for development and prosperity without new taxes, targeting a twofold increase during the next four years. Per capita income rose from Rs. 1.39 lakh to Rs. 1.52 lakh in FY 2024–25. Guided by PM Modi, the state government remains committed to the welfare of the poor, youth, farmers, and women (GYAN). Youth welfare is a priority, with the ‘Swami Vivekananda Yuva Shakti Mission’ fostering skill development, training, innovation, and research. Recruitment for one lakh government posts is in progress, with a target of 2.5 lakh recruitments over the next five years.
State Exports Grow by 6%
Situated in the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh offers seamless connectivity, abundant raw materials, skilled manpower, robust logistics, and 18 industry-friendly policies, strengthening investor confidence. The state’s export growth has increased by 6%. MP has declared 2025 as the Year of Industry and Employment. After hosting seven regional industry conclaves, thematic conclaves on minerals and tourism are being organised. PM Shri Modi attended the Global Investors Summit 2025 in Bhopal, themed ‘Infinite Possibilities’. Under the industry promotion policy, over Rs. 5,000 crore in assistance has been given to entrepreneurs, and Rs. 2,200 crore has been invested in developing 15 new industrial areas. Land allotted to 1,000 industrial units to bring Rs. 40,000 crore investment and over 93,000 jobs. Swadeshi initiatives are laying the foundation of a developed and self-reliant MP, supported by projects like the modern rail coach factory in Umaria village, Raisen district, and the PM Mitra Park in Dhar, which will boost the textile sector from ‘Farm to Foreign’.
First State to Implement Jan Vishwas Act
Madhya Pradesh, the first state to enact its Jan Vishwas Act in line with the Centre’s 2023 Act, aims to boost ease of living and ease of doing business.
Sports Achievements at International Level
The state operates 11 sports academies of excellence in 18 disciplines, with 80% athletes from MP and 20% from other states, promoting the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. In 2025–26, MP athletes won 6 gold, 9 silver, and 6 bronze medals internationally, and 82 gold, 65 silver, and 57 bronze medals nationally.

Increased Women’s Participation
The Devi Ahilya Nari Shashaktikaran Mission has been launched to boost women’s participation. Under the Ladli Behna Yojana, women receive Rs. 1,250 per month, to be increased to Rs. 1,500 from Bhai Dooj. The Lakhpati Didi scheme has enabled 10.74 lakh SHG families to become lakhpatis. Youth in textile and other job-oriented sectors will get a monthly incentive of Rs. 5,000.
Farmers to be Freed from Electricity Bills
Farmers currently get permanent power connections for Rs. 5; 32 lakh solar pumps will be installed in three years to free them from electricity bills. Ten lakh farmers will receive 24-hour electricity connections. Wheat has been procured at Rs. 2,600 per quintal, and MP has the largest certified organic farming area in the country. Rs. 1,383 crore in crop insurance transferred to 14 lakh farmers’ accounts. Over Rs. 1,383 crore in crop insurance has been transferred to the accounts of more than 14 lakh farmers in the state. He said that the Agriculture Industry Conclave 2025 is a new initiative aimed at increasing farmers’ income, linking agriculture with entrepreneurship, and promoting modern technologies. Mandsaur witnessed the inauguration and Bhoomi-Pujan of 11 industrial units worth Rs. 3,812 crore, creating 6,850 jobs. Similarly, a three-day conclave was held in Narsinghpur. Rs. 46,700 crore provided to farmers in the past 1.5 years under PM-Kisan and CM-Kisan Kalyan Yojana.
Chief Minister Vrindavan Gram Yojana to Make Villages Self-Reliant
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government has launched schemes for animal husbandry and dairy development. Under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana, livestock farmers will be provided units of 25 milch animals (cows and buffaloes). The scheme offers a 33% subsidy for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, and 25% for other categories. The amount given per cattle in gaushalas has been increased from Rs. 20 to Rs. 40. The Vrindavan Gram Yojana will make villages in the state self-reliant.
PM Svanidhi Yojana—8 Lakh Beneficiaries
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that over 8 lakh beneficiaries in the state have received loan assistance ranging from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 50,000 under the PM Svanidhi Yojana. Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the country in implementing the Swamitva Yojana, under which land ownership documents have been distributed to more than 39 lakh people. Protecting labour interests is a priority—under the Sambal Yojana, about 1.75 crore workers are registered. The Labour Welfare Board has provided assistance of Rs. 51 crore under various schemes. To ensure more employment opportunities for workers and promote industrial ease of business, amendments have been made to the Factories Act 1948, Industrial Disputes Act 1947, and Contract Labour Act 1970. Free food grains are being distributed to 1.33 crore families. Workers of Ratlam and Gwalior mills will also be given their rightful dues, like those of Hukamchand Mill.
Incorporating Tribal Heroes’ Legacy into Academic Curriculum
CM Dr. Yadav said that the state is committed to the welfare of the Scheduled Castes, providing scholarships to around 15.5 lakh students from Class 1 to the college level. For the holistic development of tribal communities, the Dharti Aaba–Tribal Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan has been launched. The inspiring stories of tribal heroes, including Bhagwan Birsa Munda, have been included in the academic curriculum. The state government has empowered Gram Sabhas under PESA rules, enabling them to resolve disputes through mutual discussion without the need to approach the police or courts. Under PM Janman Yojana and Dharti Aaba Abhiyan, works worth over Rs. 68 crore have been completed. In 21 districts, 66 mobile medical units are in operation, and the Sickle Cell Hemoglobinopathy Mission is being implemented in all 89 tribal development blocks. Under the Overseas Study Scholarship Scheme for OBCs, over 1,300 candidates have been sanctioned Rs. 465 lakh.
Construction of 1 Lakh km Roads and 500 Rail Overbridges/Flyovers
The Chief Minister said that the state is committed to achieving public welfare through large-scale development works. Over the next five years, projects such as the Narmada Pragati Path, Vindhya Expressway, Malwa–Nimar Vikas Path, Atal Pragati Path, Bundelkhand Vikas Path, and Madhya Bharat Path will be developed. A total of 1 lakh km of roads and 500 rail overbridges/flyovers will be constructed. Under the Majra–Tola Road Scheme, more than 30,000 km of roads will be built to connect remote habitations with main roads.

Tap Water Supply to Every Home in Over 19,000 Villages
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, tap water has been provided to over 78 lakh rural households in more than 19,000 villages.
Increase of 7.56 Lakh Hectares in Irrigation Capacity in 1.5 Years
Currently, irrigation covers 55 lakh hectares in the state. Irrigation capacity has increased by 7.56 lakh hectares in the last one and a half years. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to launch the river-linking campaign under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Inter-state projects with Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra will benefit 25 districts. Projects like Ken-Betwa, Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal, and Tapti Basin Mega Recharge will raise water levels and make farmers self-reliant.
Target to Achieve 50% Renewable Energy by 2030
The state is a leader in power generation. At the Global Investors Summit 2025, renewable energy sector investment proposals worth nearly Rs. 5.75 lakh crore were received, expected to generate 1.85 lakh new jobs. The target is to meet 50% of the state’s energy needs from renewable sources by 2030. Currently, the installed capacity is over 24,600 MW, with plans to increase it by over 2,000 MW this year. At the two-day Mining Conclave in Bhopal, investment proposals worth Rs. 19,650 crore were received from 11 industrial organisations.
Under PM Awas Yojana—38 Lakh Rural Houses Completed—Second in India
CM Dr. Yadav said that having a roof and a courtyard is everyone’s dream. Under PM Awas Yojana-Gramin, Madhya Pradesh has completed nearly 38 lakh houses out of over 49 lakh sanctioned, securing the second position in the country. In tribal welfare, the state ranks first in the country under the PM Janman Yojana, with 1.83 lakh houses sanctioned and 76,000 completed. Under PM Awas Yojana-Urban, more than 8 lakh urban families have been provided permanent houses.
Khandwa District Ranks First in the Country in Water Conservation

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has achieved outstanding results in the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan. During the three-month campaign, over 85,000 farm ponds and 1.05 lakh well-recharge structures were created, exceeding the target. Under ‘Amrit Sarovar 2.0’, more than 1,000 new ponds are being developed. He expressed pride that Khandwa district ranked first in the country in water conservation. Under the ‘Aviral Nirmal Narmada’Yojana, plantation will be carried out on more than 5,500 hectares. For environmental conservation and women’s economic empowerment, the state is launching the ‘Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam’ scheme. Through MGNREGA, over 30 lakh fruit-bearing plants will be planted on 30,000 acres of private land belonging to eligible women from more than 30,000 self-help groups, with an expenditure of Rs. 1,000 crore. Additionally, 2,400 new Atal Panchayat Sewa Sadans, with a total cost of Rs. 922 crore, have been approved.
Two Metropolitan Regions to Boost Urban Development
Two new metropolitan regions are being developed—one encompassing areas of Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, and Dhar districts, and the other covering parts of Bhopal, Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha, and Rajgarh districts. In the future, Jabalpur and Gwalior will also be designated as metropolitan regions, enhancing infrastructure and boosting trade and civic connectivity across towns and cities. Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, 8 cities—including Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Budhni—won national honours in‘Swachh Survekshan’ 2024.
Madhya Pradesh First in the Country to Launch E-Summons
For Naxal elimination, 850 new posts have been added to special units in Balaghat, Mandla, and Dindori. Outstanding police performance is being rewarded with out-of-turn promotions. The state is a leader in implementing new criminal laws. Dial-100 has been integrated with Dial-112, deploying 1,200 modern vehicles. Madhya Pradesh is the first in India to start e-summons, with 10 lakh already served.
Convenient Passenger Bus Service to Start Soon
Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva’, comfortable passenger bus services will be launched on urban and rural routes as per requirement.
Rapid Expansion of Air Services

Air services are expanding rapidly. New airports have been opened in Rewa, Satna, and Datia. The number of airports in the state has increased from 5 to 8 in the past year, with a contract signed for Shivpuri. The target is an airport every 150 km and an airstrip every 75 km, ensuring air connectivity even to remote regions.
Health Facilities a Top Priority
CM Dr. Yadav, Quoting ‘Aarogyam Paramam Bhagyaṁ’, said that providing quality health facilities is a priority. New medical colleges are being established on PPP mode to benefit rural areas. The PMShri Air Ambulance service is reaching remote villages. Under the ‘Rahveer Yojana’, responsible citizens who take road accident victims to the hospital within an hour will receive a Rs. 25,000 reward.
Promotion of AYUSH
To promote AYUSH medicine, 22 integrated AYUSH wings have been sanctioned in district allopathic hospitals. Under the National AYUSH Mission, 800 AYUSH wellness centres are operational across the state. Free mortuary van services have also been launched, with each district hospital receiving two vehicles and medical college districts receiving four.
Over 89,000 Meritorious Students Given Laptops
Madhya Pradesh is among the first states to implement the National Education Policy 2020. PM Shri Colleges of Excellence have been started in all 55 districts. ‘Sandipani Vidyalayas’ are being set up to improve school education quality. Over 89,000 meritorious students have been awarded Rs. 224 crore for laptops, while eligible students have also been provided free scooters.
Leader in Digital Land Management
The Sampada 2.0 software has earned Madhya Pradesh the National e-Governance Gold Award, making it a leader in digital land management. Through cyber-tehsils, land title transfers are now completely faceless, paperless, and online. In the past 1.5 years, over 1.75 lakh court orders have been executed.
Two New Tiger Reserves for the State
Satpura Tiger Reserve ranked second in the country for effective management among 53 reserves, while Kanha Tiger Reserve was declared the best in India. Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary has been declared the state’s eighth tiger reserve and Madhav National Park the ninth. Under the Cheetah Project, Kuno now has 26 cheetahs, and a new habitat has been prepared in the Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary. Omkareshwar and Jhangarh sanctuaries will be developed for wildlife tourism. Pachmarhi Sanctuary will be named after Raja Bhabhut Singh. The Gangotri Harit Yojana has been launched to protect rivers, with approximately 2.5 lakh saplings planted across nearly 100 river origins on 10 acres each, at a cost of Rs. 42 crore. Under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ 2.0, 5.04 crore saplings have been planted.
Tourism Boosted

Under the PM Shri Tourism Air Service and Rural Tourism Project, 241 homestays have been developed in 121 villages. Recently, UNESCO added Bhojpur to its list and declared Gwalior a “Creative City of Music,” taking the state’s total heritage sites to 18—the highest in the country. A new era of cultural revival is underway, with the government and public jointly celebrating festivals from Makar Sankranti to Gita Jayanti. The 1,450 km Shri Ram Van Gaman Path and the Shri Krishna Pathay will connect major pilgrimage sites linked to Lord Krishna’s life.
Historic Simhastha 2028 Preparations
Simhastha 2028 will be unprecedented, with 30 km of new ghats on the Shipra River enabling around 5 crore devotees to bathe within 24 hours. Projects like Sewarkhedi–Silarkhedi and the Kanha Diversion Closed Duct are being developed to ensure clean, continuous river flow.

Referring to ‘Operation Sindoor’, Dr. Yadav said ‘Tricolour’ rallies were held across the state to honour the unmatched courage of the Indian armed forces. He said that from faith to economy, tradition to technology, agriculture to industry, and jobs to start-ups, Madhya Pradesh is setting new records in every field, with continued public support driving its progress.
