
Daughter of Madhya Pradesh Who Made the State Proud to Receive Rs. 2 Lakh Incentive
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav congratulated Kumari Priyanshi Prajapati, a talented international wrestler from Ujjain, during her visit to Samatva Bhavan, the CM’s residence, on Thursday. Priyanshi recently won a Gold Medal in the Under-23 category at the Asian Wrestling Championship held in Vietnam, bringing pride to Madhya Pradesh.
CM Dr. Yadav lauded her achievement and announced a cash incentive of ₹2 lakh for her. He said that the state government is committed to promoting sports and supporting athletes at every level. In the past too, athletes from Madhya Pradesh have not only received incentives but have also been given opportunities for placements in government services.
The Chief Minister assured that outstanding athletes who win medals at national and international levels will continue to receive encouragement from the state. The meeting was also attended by Shri Ravi Solanki, Joint Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Wrestling Association Shri Vijay Chaudhary, President of Ujjain District Wrestling Association Shri Umesh Thakur, Secretary Shri Surendra Yadav, Vice President Shri Mukesh Prajapati, and Shri Sawan Bajaj.
Warm Wishes from Ujjain to Bhopal for Priyanshi
CM Dr. Yadav welcomed Priyanshi in the presence of several public representatives. Celebrations are ongoing not only in Bhopal but also in her hometown Ujjain, where the district administration, sports department, and wrestling enthusiasts have congratulated her. Her remarkable feat has brought joy across the sports fraternity in the state.
Priyanshi has been passionate about wrestling since the age of 11, following in the footsteps of her elder sister Nupur, a national-level wrestler. She has won several medals in the past include 4th Place, Under-15 Category, Japan (2018 ), Gold Medal, Senior Federation Cup, Punjab (2020 ), Bronze Medal, Junior World Championship, Bulgaria (2022), Bronze Medal, Junior Asian Championship, Jordan (2023) and Gold Medal, Senior Asian Championship (2025). These achievements have added glory to both Madhya Pradesh and the nation.
Priyanshi will next represent India at the Senior World Wrestling Championship in the 53 kg category, scheduled to be held in Turkey on July 29. She credits her success to the guidance of her father and coach, wrestler Shri Mukesh Babulal Prajapati.
