
BMW Group India has achieved its best-ever performance between January and September. The luxury carmaker reported sales of 11,978 cars during the first nine months of the year, registering a strong 13% rise compared to the same period last year. BMW accounted for 11,510 of these units, while MINI contributed 468 cars. The company also sold 3,976 motorcycles under BMW Motorrad.The July–September quarter turned out to be the company’s strongest yet, with 4,204 cars sold: a 21% year-on-year jump. September, in particular, was a record month for BMW Group India, with new GST pricing and the ongoing festive season driving strong demand.Demand for BMW’s long wheelbase modelsL including the 7 Series, 5 Series, 3 Series, and iX1, surged by 169% year-on-year to 5,720 units. These models now represent half of BMW’s total sales in India. The 3 Series remains the brand’s top-selling sedan, commanding a 16% share in sales. Overall, BMW has sold over 15,000 long wheelbase cars in India so far.Besides that, the company’s SUVs remain the most sought-after body type, with sales of 7,040 units, up 19% year-on-year. SUVs now account for 59% of BMW’s total car sales, led by the popular X1, which contributes over 30% of total volumes. The X7 followed as the most sold SUV in the luxury segment.
EVs continue to charge ahead
BMW has also cemented its position as the top luxury EV brand in the country. Between January and September, the company delivered 2,509 electric BMWs and Minis, marking a massive 246% growth year-on-year. EVs now make up 21% of its total car sales. As for the models, the BMW iX1 led the charge as the best-selling electric model, followed by the flagship i7. The brand has now surpassed 5,000 electric vehicle deliveries in India.BMW’s EV lineup currently includes six cars and two scooters: the i7, iX, i5, i4, iX1 Long Wheelbase, MINI Countryman E, and the electric scooters CE 04 and CE 02. MINI also maintained strong momentum, delivering 468 cars in the first nine months of 2025. The MINI Cooper S emerged as the star performer, growing over 90% year-on-year.BMW Motorrad, meanwhile, registered sales of 3,976 motorcycles during the same period. The G 310 RR topped the charts in the entry-level segment, while the R 1300 GS and GSA were the most popular models among the bigger capacity models.
